All the tracks were recorded on a Gateway 2000 that was old, even at the time. It had 1.2 gigs of hard drive space, which included all operating files. We ended up having about 600 megs of space to work with. Because we wanted to save space (and we didn’t know any better), we recorded all this stuff at 22khz as opposed to the 44.1 khz ( CD standard). This meant the quality was awful! As inexperienced 16-17 year olds, Matt and I thought it was awesome. Ready for radio.
A lot of the material was written when I was 15 and 16…a creative document of a time in my life. Anybody can listen to these records and be escorted back to the time of grunge and immature radio angst. But we did these records our selves. Engineered, performed, burned the CDs, designed and printed labels and inserts. At the time, kids in high school were pretty impressed…we were right at the front end of D-I-Y.
