Kristian Bjornard, Will Miller, Brian Slagle, and Mike Vasas. My first complete rock band. We played two shows. We rehearsed once. Well, twice if you count the first show earlier in the day at the "Fall Fest". The show presented here was our only true show, though. The rock section is presented in its entirety, the acoustic opening set was cut down to fit onto one CD. Mr. Fusion fell apart after the show, I'm not sure why because we all seemed game to continue it. The version of Drowning of Aaron Corpis ended inspiring the rocked up version that is on The City. Our take on Be Prepared for Anything is not credited as, but was performed by our alter-ego hard-rock band Mr. Fission.
It's an odd record because it was recorded after Bad Luck but released BEFORE. Most of the fans at the show were familiar with the Bad Luck material, too. But yet this record was released before the record most of the material was supposed to be officially released on. Not as confusing as it may seem, just odd. What makes it even more weird is that it includes tracks that were "new" at the time but ended up not being released until almost a year later on Collection on Desktops. One original song, "Flags Everywhere" still hasn't seen official release elsewhere. I don't know how I missed putting it on Collection, but I did...whoops. The acoustic set included my funny spoof of the Dave Matthew's Band song which I called "Crash; Just Like Dave" and the not-supposed to be funny cover of Gone 'Till November which unfortunately always is considered some kind of smug cover. It's not supposed to be. I really love that song. The title track featured last is an early mix of the version on Bad Luck. Why we did it, I don't know. This was recorded, mixed and produced by Vince Perri.
